Dance Gazette guest editors

Throughout 2020, three guest editors have taken the helm of Dance Gazette, presenting the RAD and its work through their eyes and the lens of another industry, providing an alternative perspective.

The February issue saw award-winning actress, Noma Dumezweni taking charge. Born in Swaziland to South African parents, Noma originally came to the UK as a refugee.

The June issue saw Gareth Pugh, British fashion designer and activist, take the helm and share how central dance was in shaping who he became both personally and professionally.

The October issue saw Dame Darcey Bussell at the helm. In this most challenging of years, it feels right that the beloved ballerina and President of the RAD shaped an issue with a special emphasis on the way dance impacts on mental health and wellbeing, even in difficult circumstances.

Dance Gazette is a benefit of membership of the Royal Academy of Dance, delivered to our worldwide membership of teachers and students in 89 countries.
