Gisele Tardeli De Jesus (Brazil)

In 2011 a little six-year-old girl with several problems came to my school.

She had Down’s Syndrome and a severe problem of oesophagal malformation. She had gone through seven surgeries in six years and had never learned to walk because of that.

She came to ballet classes since her mother couldn’t take her to school yet, but she wanted her to have interaction with other children so she started taking my pre-ballet classes.

At the end of that year, she danced in the school recital, and in the middle of the following year, she was walking.

She is still a student in our school today at 13 years old and loves to go on stage.
