In the Spotlight: Laura Heywood, RADiate Dance Artist

An interview with Laura Heywood, RADiate Dance Artist at RAD headquarters, Swiss Cottage Primary School and Greenmead Primary School.

What is your dance training and background?

I trained at Trinity Laban where I completed my BA in Dance Theatre and MA in Dance Performance.

Which RADiate setting/s do you teach at?

I teach both in school and run the sessions on-site at the RAD. Right now my teaching is online.

What is the best thing about the RADiate project?

Getting a chance to meet so many wonderful movers and going on dance adventures together.

What new hobby did you start during lockdown?

My new hobby is growing houseplants. I grew a lot of them from cuttings and I am working towards having a mini Jungle. My favourite hobby outside of dancing is cooking. The best thing I make is dumplings.

What is your favourite food or thing to do to relax?

I am Italian, so I do tend to love pasta dishes, my favourite being vegetarian lasagna. To unwind I actually enjoy a slow run or a walk out and about.

A fun fact about you:

I am very good at playing football and can do around 30 keep ups to this day.
