Battle Educate

Battle Educate, Step into Dance’s annual festival for young people, celebrating Street Dance in all its forms returned on Saturday 14 December 2019. Guest producers Soul Mavericks programmed an exciting mix of workshops, performances and an all-important opportunity for crews and individual dancers to battle it out in front of a sold out audience.

Battle Educate was open to all young dancers across London and Essex with a flair for street dance, who came together learn from professionals and put their skills into practice in an authentic Battle.  On the day, 14 crews battled it out to be the 2019 winners in All Styles and Breaking. There were also prizes for Best Dancer, All Styles Solo and Breaking Solo. We were joined by special guests from the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Royal Academy of Dance, who presented awards alongside our judges: B Girl Roxy, Vanessa Marina B Girl, and Kloe Dean from Myself Dance.

This year’s event was produced by Soul Mavericks – a collective of talented dancers each bringing their own style, experience and energy. Established in 2005, the company aims to represent UK Bboying to the highest level, by competing and performing both nationally and internationally.
