Faculty of Education Guest Lecture Series: In Conversation with Dr Sara Houston

The first event in our online Guest Lecture Series 20-21 focuses on invited speaker Dr Sara Houston, Principal Lecturer and Deputy Head for Dance, Drama and Film (School of Arts, University of Roehampton) in conversation with Dr Kathrina Farrugia-Kriel, Head of Research (Faculty of Education, RAD).

Dr Sara Houston speaks internationally on community dance and political issues concerning dance and the arts. Dr Houston’s prize-winning research project (2010-2014) centres on the impact of dancing for those living with Parkinson’s and has been commissioned by English National Ballet. In 2011, the BUPA Foundation awarded her its prestigious Vitality for LifePrize for the Dance for Parkinson’s research. Her book, Dancing with Parkinson’s (2019), brings together her extensive and pioneering research in this field of study.
