Guest Lecture Series Event: In Conversation with Susan Koff

The second event in our Guest Lecture Series 21-22 features Susan Koff, Professor of Dance Education (New York University Steinhardt, USA). This event will be of interest to those invested in the dance, education and pedagogy. In conversation with Dr Michelle Groves (Director of Education), Koff will talk about defining dance as an artform, whether some dance genre are privileged over others, and whether the study of dance authentically embraces multiculturalism. About the speaker: Dr. Susan R. Koff has over twenty years of experience teaching dance education in higher education. She was the director of the Graduate Dance and Dance Education Program in the Department of the Arts and Humanities at Teachers College, Columbia University and most recently completed ten years as Director of the Dance Education Program at NYU. She is a Clinical Professor of Dance Education and was a Fulbright Scholar visiting the National School of Contemporary Dance in Copenhagen. She proudly published her first book, Dance Education: A Redefinition, in 2021.
