Reclaiming Narratives: Exploring the Soul of Samba

All ages are welcome to this workshop at RAD headquarters – the dance workshop element is suitable for ages 10 and over.

Celebrate Black History Month with the Royal Academy of Dance and Paraíso School of Samba, as we dive into the history and culture of the dance form, exploring its origins and following its journey from the African continent to Brazil.

Experience the soul of Samba with a demonstration by the amazing Passistas from Paraíso with the chance to try it for yourself!

Paraíso School of Samba is a vibrant community dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Brazilian Carnival. Based in the heart of London, the school offers classes and workshops in samba dancing, drumming, and costume design.

Participants have the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors, connect with like-minded individuals, and perform in a variety of parades and events.
