BalletBoyz was co-founded in 2000 by ex-Royal Ballet dancers Michael Nunn and William Trevitt. For ten years the company performed around the world and won numerous awards and accolades working with leading dancers, choreographers and designers.

In 2005 BalletBoyz became Associate Artists at Sadler’s Wells, an appointment which was followed by shows Naked (2005), Encore (2006) and Greatest Hits! (2008). 2010 saw the first edition of the ground-breaking project, the TALENT, in which eight young male dancers were selected from a variety of backgrounds. The dancers were coached and mentored to create a company of first-class contemporary ballet performers. Now in its eighteenth year, the company has expanded to ten dancers and regularly tours nationally and internationally. In 2013 BalletBoyz won the National Dance Award for Best Independent Company.

As well an extensive repertoire of stage works, BalletBoyz have created numerous arts documentaries for television including BalletBoyz I & II, Strictly BolshoiThe Royal Ballet in CubaBalletBoyz: The Next Generation and BalletBoyz: The Rite of Spring, as well as forty short films for Channel 4’s Random Acts strand. They have won numerous awards for their film work including an International Emmy, Rose d’Or and Golden Prague.

BalletBoyz continue to inspire, educate and showcase dance in the best possible ways, touring the world to bring their creations to as wide an audience as possible.
