Fonteyn grand draw winner generously gives her tickets away
RAD teacher, Jan Kilpatrick, was a winner in the recent grand draw offering the chance to attend the final of the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition.
Currently teaching in Monaco at the International School of Monaco, she has generously given her prize of VIP tickets, along with an invitation to the post-final reception, to two of her teachers based here in the UK.
Known for her largesse, in recent years, Jan has also donated to the RAD by naming a seat in the Aud Jebson Studio Theatre at our new headquarters during the campaign to raise money for the move into the building. Jan named three seats, one for the Whitehouse Ballet School, one for Jennifer Hall, and a third seat, which she collectively organised with RAD teachers in Northern Ireland, in tribute to the late RAD examiner Fiona Campbell.
She also received an honourable mention in the 'Dance for Wellbeing' category at this year's RAD Teacher Awards for her work with 'The Care Cabin', where people can explore and address their mental health issues through rewarding experiences and dance therapies.
The proceeds from the grand draw will support this year's Fonteyn competition, helping to nurture and celebrate the next generation of ballet talent.
