Hosting your own Celebration event

We’ve got some fun Celebration marketing materials to support the promotion of your event in your local community.

Promoting your event

On the day

After your event

  • Celebrate what you’ve achieved and send the RAD your event day photos by email to participate@rad.org.uk or share with us on socials!

Top Tips

Want to make your Celebration stand out from the crowd?

  • Think about a theme or an inter-generational performance with younger dance students. Perhaps take your performance or workshop outdoors, or to a local school, leisure centre or church to get some further publicity.
  • Know a local celebrity, MP, or dignitary? Invite them along and include them in any photography and social media activity (with their permission of course!).
  • Write a press release (a story about what you’re planning) with details of your event, and send it to your local newspaper.
  • Send the press release to your local radio station and offer to do an interview on why you’re holding a Silver Swans Celebration.
  • Advertise your event on social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Remember to include all of the key details – the date, time, venue and who to contact
  • Look for other ways to raise awareness of your event – along with putting up posters, look for local newsletters it can be mentioned in!
  • Get some impactful photos of your event – perhaps a large group shot if you have a lot of people performing and attending – take several so that your local paper has a choice!
