Members' open house event held at the new RAD home for dance

Sunday 24 April saw a successful first-ever member's open house at our new headquarters, with over 160 members visiting in person, and nearly 300 people in 29 countries able to follow events via live streaming.

The day featured networking sessions, workshops, observation classes, and an address by Royal Ballet principal and RAD Ambassador, Steven McRae. Céline Gittens, principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet was also announced as the RAD's International Ambassador.

Here is some of the feedback we received:

“I had such a lovely day today. Congratulations to all involved with the planning and bringing the new building to life. It’s going to be the start of something truly amazing.”

“I'm so thrilled to be part of it, from Italy with joy.”

"Living so far away, it made me feel much more connected , having the opportunity to be ‘present’ on that special day."

"It was so interesting to see the new headquarters online and feel everyone's enthusiasm. The informal speeches were heartfelt and inspiring from everyone involved."

"It reinforced the love and gratitude that I feel toward the RAD, for having been such a long, positive influence on my life."
