2018 Photo Competition
We received over 160 entries from 30 countries for the 2018 Photo Competition, Dancewhere? The winner this year is Siobhan Mulligan from Ireland – congratulations! Siobhan entered the image above, saying ‘Movement and music as one! Colour and creativity of the streets.’
Second place was awarded to Wen Yee Tong from Singapore:
And the Special Commendation was awarded to Jilyn Han Ying Tee also from Singapore:
There were over 2,200 votes in the Public Choice Award this year and the winner, by just one vote, is Shivani Mistry who received 299 votes:
The judges this year were Chief Executive Luke Rittner, Director of Marketing & Communications Melanie Murphy, and Dance Gazette Editor David Jays. David stated: "We were very struck by the dynamism of so many of the entries, many showed enjoyment of dance in all sorts of interesting locations." Luke agreed adding, "The imagination that people have used in selecting their locations is very broad and absolutely wonderful." Melanie said "We were really struck by the beauty and structure of the image chosen for the Special Commendation."
The winners were awarded fantastic prizes, including an Instax mini camera, Panasonic Bluetooth headphones, a Bose mini Bluetooth speaker, and canvas prints of their entries.
