Carlos Acosta CBE presented with the QEII Award

16 Oct 2018 / Tags: UK, Awards

Last night, Carlos Acosta was presented with the RAD's Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award at a special ceremony at Spencer House in London. The award was conferred in recognition of his standing as one of the most influential figures in dance today.

The evening saw a special citation from Dame Monica Mason, followed by the presentation by RAD President, Dame Darcey Bussell.

In his acceptance speech, Carlos thanked those who had helped him over the years: "I’m very honoured. I am very aware of all the wonderful personalities who have won this award – all of them have shaped the world of dance in some form or another. I receive this on behalf of all the people who have helped me in my career."
