CPD activity discount offer and fees update

07 Jan 2016 / Tags: CPD

Receive a 10% discount when you book a place on two CPD activities.

Book two UK CPD activities on the same application form to receive a 10% discount on the cheapest activity (offer valid for all applications received between 4 Jan 2016 and 31 March 2016 at midnight).

2016 CPD Fees

Note that from 1 January, the fees are as follows:

  • £93 per day for members
  • £123 per day for non-members
Fees for two and three-day activities are listed on the individual event pages.

The CPD courses are already expensive enough and although the increase is only £3 per day I do not think there should have been any increase at all.
I am keen to attend these courses but I have already spent almost £400 since August 2015 and will need consider very carefully before I can commit to any more. For me it's not just about clocking up your CPD hours but being able to further your knowledge.
It may be an idea to offer 10% discount on bookings of two courses at the same time but also - or instead - to offer significant discount to those teachers who have either spent a certain amount or done a certain amount of courses throughout the year.

Dear Jane,

Thank you for your feedback.
We absolutely agree with you - CPD is not about 'clocking up hours' and our philosophy is rooted in supporting teachers to find CPD that is to relevant to their individual business and professional needs.

We understand that an increase in the fees might not necessarily be welcome, but we can assure you that the £3 increase is simply to cover the rising costs associated with developing and delivering CPD. We do indeed offer discounts from time to time or on specific courses, but we will certainly look into your suggestion of combined bookings.

There are also many free and low cost online courses available. A list of RAD online CPD activities can be found here:

You can also use other online providers many of which offer free courses, please find some examples below:

• Coursera
• Open University free online courses (UK)
• (UK)

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

Dear Tiffany,

For an activity to count as External CPD it needs to:
- Have clear aims and objectives
- Have demonstrable learning outcomes
- Be relevant to your dance teaching career
- Be able to be evidenced (e.g. with a certificate)

Therefore the courses you have listed will count towards your CPD hours.

Additionally RAD has a range of online activities, a list of which can be found here:[…]/online-cpd-activities. says:

Cara Jane gostaria de iniciar o curso online de notação de movimento -Benesh. Soube que tinham uma formação online valendo 16 horas de crédito de formação.
Ainda me posso escrever? como o faço? não encontro esse curso nas propostas de CPD.
Muito obrigada.
