Jacquie Anderson

Jacquie was a member of Matthew Bourne’s Adventures in Motion Pictures and performed in Nutcracker and Highland Fling and was in the original cast of Swan Lake and Cinderella with performances at Sadler’s Wells and The Piccadilly Theatre, London, Broadway in New York, Los Angeles and UK tours. She has also performed at The Edinburgh Festival acting and singing with TAG theatre company, Glasgow, as well as Vienna Festival Ballet, Scottish Dance Theatre and Scottish Ballet Steps out to name but a few.

Her dance teaching has included working at London Contemporary Dance School, the Royal College of Music, Scottish Ballet Steps Out, Coventry University, Birmingham Royal Ballet Education Unit, DanceXchange (Birmingham), Warwickshire Education Authority (as a Top Dance Instructor), New Adventures Company and Gorseinon College (Wales). Teaching has included both ballet and contemporary techniques (including Graham, Cunningham, Limone and Release techniques).

She currently teaches adult ballet and contemporary dance, establishing her own Silver Swans ballet school for the over 55’s after getting her Silver Swans license from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2018.

  • Before you begin, remember that it is vital that you warm up before and cool down after any exercise session.
  • If something hurts stop immediately! These exercises should not cause pain or discomfort. Every ‘body’ is different, and you should work within your limitations.
  • Please take things at your own pace. As this is an online activity, you can pause, stop, and restart whenever you need to. You may also modify exercises so that they do not push the extremes of your capabilities.
