08 hours
This one day workshop is in three parts.

Book your place

In the morning, participants will be introduced to principles of growth and maturation in the context of dance from physiological as well as psychological perspectives. The impact of growth and maturation on training, health and wellbeing, as well as practical approaches to support best practice in the training of adolescent dancers will be examined. The first session after lunch focuses on injury prevention, and strength and conditioning exercises for young dancers. The final interactive session shifts focus by exploring issues which can impact on the mental wellbeing of dance teachers (as opposed to dance students) and identifies potential strategies which participants can draw on when dealing with increasingly complex professional and personal demands.
