Survey: Investigating the use of at-home dance resources

Evidence shows that participating in dance can offer both physical and non-physical benefits to older people and those with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s. In recent times, especially in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in availability and use of at-home dance resources. Organisations providing community dance programmes have been working quickly to develop videos and online sessions to enable people to practice dance-based activities while unable to attend in-person classes.

Researchers from the Body, Eyes and Movement (BEAM) Lab at the University of Manchester are working with dance organisations to conduct an international survey to understand people’s experiences of using at-home dance resources. The aim of this research is to find out how remote dance resources may be used effectively and to help develop and improve these resources.

BEAM would like to hear from people who have attended dance classes or used at-home dance resources, as well as people who are interested in using these resources.

The online survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. For further information and to take part in the survey, please follow this link.

If you have any questions, please contact the researcher: judith.bek@manchester.ac.uk. Visit the BEAM Lab website for more information on their research.
