RAD Centenary Dance Teacher Awards

The Royal Academy of Dance is delighted to announce the winners of the Centenary Dance Teacher Awards. During our centenary year, we are honouring the excellence of RAD Registered Teachers from around the world by acknowledging their achievements, and showcasing their contribution and commitment to the wider field of dance teaching.

We received around 300 nominations, which were then shortlisted by members of the Faculty of Education. The shortlist was then put to a public vote in June which saw a remarkable 11605 votes cast. These votes were then compiled with a judges vote to determine the winners of each category.

And the winners are…

Advocacy Dance Teacher Award – Sarah Platt

Community Engagement Dance Teacher Award – Cooper Rust

Outstanding Mentor Dance Teacher Award – Nicola Trotter

Early Career Dance Teacher Award – Hong Zhu

Congratulations!
