Background

Bethany joined the Faculty of Education as PGCE: Dance Teaching Programme Manager in August 2017. As Lecturer in Dance Education, she teaches predominantly on the PGCE: DT programme but also contributes to the BA(Hons) Ballet Education degree, particularly focusing on Professional Placements and Dance Teaching Theory. Bethany completed her PGCE in Dance (Secondary) with QTS at the University of Brighton in 2012 and has since gained extensive experience of teaching dance in the public sector. Bethany was Head of Dance at a large secondary school in London and taught across all three key stages including delivering both GCSE and A-Level Dance. She has also had experience of leadership within the pastoral system as Deputy Head of Year (Key Stage 4). In addition, Bethany has gained her UKCA Level 3 Cheer coaching qualification.

Research interests

My areas of interest include learning theories, motivation and mindsets. I am currently completing my MA in Education with the University of Bath.
