Hilary Clark

Freelance teacher, coach and Artistic Adviser to the Royal Academy of Dance

Hilary trained at Rambert School and after graduation joined Scottish Ballet, performing in all the major classics and new works with the main company and Educational Unit. On returning to London, Hilary toured extensively with London City Ballet and then graduated with Honours from the Professional Dancer’s Teaching Course at the Royal Academy of Dance.

Hilary has held the post of Assistant Director and ballet teacher at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and taught at many schools including Elmhurst, Laine Theatre Arts, London Junior/Senior Ballet, and at the RAD Dance School and Central School of Ballet where she continues to teach. Throughout her career she has been a faculty member for the RAD and has taught the Phyllis Bedells Bursary class three times. Hilary also works for the CDMT.

In 2013, at the invitation of Lynn Wallis, Hilary taught and coached the candidates of the Genée International Ballet Competition held in Glasgow, in London in 2015 and in Lisbon in 2017. In Antwerp in 2014 and again at Genée 2018 in Hong Kong, she was privileged to have been invited to produce the competition, coach and teach the on-stage class at the semi-finals.

Hilary is also the Artistic Adviser to the RAD and a Trustee.
