The Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) is a two year, part-time programme delivered through a combination of guided independent study, online learning and studio-based teaching practice. Our student teachers will gain essential dance teaching skills and establish a foundation for lifelong learning. The programme has been designed using best practice in digital learning allowing us to reach a broader audience around the world, ensuring we are working more sustainably and maintaining the high standards that are expected in dance teaching. The CDT will enable student teachers to specialise in the teaching of ballet and gain a teaching qualification and on completion of the programme, they will be eligible to apply for Registered Teacher Status of the Royal Academy of Dance.

The Faculty of Education is now accepting applications for the new programme. The dates for application are 1 July 2023 (for Concessionary Entry) and 1 August 2023 for a January 2024 start. If you are interested in finding out more about the programme, please visit our digital prospectus.
