Amy is currently Head of the Children’s Program at The Joffrey Ballet’s Grainger Academy in Chicago, where she also teaches full-time pre-professional students and serves as a rehearsal director for the children’s cast of Christopher Wheeldon’s The Nutcracker.

Before relocating to Chicago in 2025, Amy lived and taught in London, holding teaching positions at The Royal Ballet School, Rambert, and The Ballet School London. Her previous teaching experience also includes Central School of Ballet, Thomas’s London Day Schools, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, and Trinity Laban.

A graduate of the RAD’s BA (Hons) Ballet Education degree, Amy has been an active RAD teaching member since 2011, teaching students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds in the UK and internationally. She has tutored on the Certificate in Dance Teaching (CDT), taught BA (Hons) Ballet Education students at RAD headquarters, and mentored both CBTS students and trainee teachers at The Royal Ballet School.

Amy credits much of her success to her childhood RAD teacher, who taught her the importance of hard work and perseverance. She feels she owes it to her to apply her expertise, education and experience to represent her voice – and the voices of other fellow members – to ensure decisions are made in the collective interest.

As a graduate of The Royal Ballet School’s Diploma of Dance Teaching, she advocates for innovative, reflective practices that embrace change and honour tradition. As a Trustee, she is willing to challenge the status quo where appropriate and contribute to positive, meaningful change for RAD members worldwide.
