Solo Seal CPD Course with RAD Examiner Cynthia Fisher – Toronto

Led by RAD Examiner Cynthia Fisher, this course will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the Solo Seal content and the appropriate development needed to support their students’ success.

-This course is designed to help teachers and students develop training strategies in pursuit of the Solo Seal Award

-The emphasis will be on development exercises for specific variations rather than coaching of variations in their entirety

-Training to be provided on the transition from Advanced 2 to Solo Seal and a discussion of the assessment criteria

-Methods explored to support students in the development of strength and stamina to facilitate technical facility and ease of movement. Dinah from Pivot Dancer will join us for a 1hr conditioning session.

-Discussion about the development of musicality and artistry, incorporating a range of dynamics and interpretive and expressive qualities

Additional information

A pianist will be provided by RAD Canada.

*Attendees may apply to bring a student demonstrator. Students should not be entering the next Solo Seal examination, but should be hoping to be ready within approximately 18 months. Applications may also be submitted for students who have previously participated but are not planning to take the examination next spring, as well as successful past candidates who would like to demonstrate.
