What is perfectionism? This interactive webinar will focus on:
- Contextualising Perfectionism
- Developmental Origins of Perfectionism
- Perfectionism and a Motivational Climate
- Perfectionism and Pedagogy
The webinar will reference the work of key academic researchers including the work of Dr Brené Brown.
Aims
The aims of this webinar are:
- To facilitate critical discussion on the following topics :
- Is perfectionism a positive behaviour/trait?
- How does the dance teacher potential to encounter/nurture perfectionist tendencies/behaviours, and how might teachers unconsciously nurture perfectionist tendencies?
- How can the dance teacher create a positive, healthy, motivational environment?
- To facilitate a solution focused approach to identifying practical small/medium/long term goals that will enhance your pedagogical practice and make a difference (tangible takeaway’s).
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the webinar, participants will have an increased understanding of:
- Perfectionist Strivings,
- Adaptive and Maladaptive Perfectionist Tendencies, and
- Relationship between Pedagogy and Perfectionism
