Sonia Greco
Board of Trustees
Having trained with and worked within the Royal Academy of Dance community for more than 40 years, Sonia has built a career deeply rooted in the organisation that has shaped her professional journey. The opportunity to serve on the RAD Board of Trustees reflects her commitment to giving back to a community that has been her training ground, professional network and enduring source of inspiration throughout her career.
As an RAD teacher, Sonia has first-hand experience of the realities of dance education, including preparing students for examinations, running a dance school and balancing the artistic and administrative demands of the profession. Over more than 20 years as an International Examiner and Tutor, she has worked with teachers across many countries, gaining valuable insight into the evolving needs, aspirations and challenges facing dance educators around the world.
In 2021, she founded Danz-Up, a consultancy dedicated to supporting dance teachers and school directors. Through this work, she has engaged with professionals from schools of all sizes, developing a strong understanding of the practical support, professional development and guidance that have the greatest impact on their success and growth.
Drawing on her experiences as a teacher, examiner and consultant, she is a strong advocate for placing the member experience at the heart of the RAD’s continued development. She is passionate about ensuring that every teacher feels supported, valued and listened to, and about helping the Academy continue to provide the opportunities, guidance and sense of community that enable its members to thrive throughout their professional careers.
