We’re a charity, but we don’t just rely on the generosity of donors. We can also count on the big hearts of our colleagues to take dance into schools and communities. We trust in their expertise in training future dancers and dance teachers. And we look after their best interests through our membership scheme and advocacy work.
We offer permanent, part-time, freelancing, and volunteering roles. Everyone has a part to play in our mission to teach the world to dance.

Exams
Around the world, RAD exams are recognised for their quality, and each year, nearly a quarter of a million candidates across the globe choose to take their dance exams with us. Our Exams team oversee a wide range of assessments to motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities. Our candidates range in age from 2 to 60+!
Membership

Faculty of Education
We are a specialist dance education provider with 100 years of experience in inspiring, cultivating and supporting dance teachers around the world. Our Faculty of Education was created in 1999 in recognition of our increasing commitment to higher education.
Dance School
The RAD Dance School is based at our headquarters and offers a variety of extra-curricular dance classes for young people and adults. Whether for fun and fitness or to develop technique and skills, we provide a full timetable of classes offering something for everyone.
Exams
Around the world, RAD exams are recognised for their quality, and each year, nearly a quarter of a million candidates across the globe choose to take their dance exams with us. Fundraising and Development
As an independent educational charity, we don’t receive regular government funding, so our Fundraising and Development team raises funds from individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations to continue our work in communities.
Marketing and Communications
Our Marketing and Communications team ensure that our work is seen around the world. They promote live and online events and run our social media channels and website. They also send out press releases and craft internal communications.
Finance
Our Finance department takes care of the day-to-day running of the RAD, processing invoices, membership payments and renewals, and keeping the RAD board up to date on income and revenue through monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reporting.
People
Our Human Resources, or ‘People Department’ take care of the recruitment, induction and wellbeing of RAD staff.
Facilities
Our Facilities team provide a safe and efficient working environment at RAD headquarters. They are responsible for managing health and safety, security, and upholding our safeguarding commitment. They also arrange studio and meeting room hire, support events and activities around the building with planning and implementation, and provide a high level of customer service to ensure your experience here at the RAD is the best it can be.
Learning and Participation
Our Learning and Participation team are responsible for running RADiate (our programme for children with special educational needs), Dance Studies, summer schools, workshops, masterclasses, competitions and bursaries, community activities, bespoke tuition and others – mostly within the UK but also overseas.
Step into Dance
Run in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation, Step into Dance is an inclusive UK dance programme delivering regular classes in secondary schools and youth groups across London and Essex.
Continuing Professional Development
Our CPD department provides opportunities for knowledge and skills development for dancers, teachers, choreographers, arts administrators, and those simply interested in dance. They run a programme of activities, from webinars and in-person workshops to networking for dance professionals around the world.
Benesh International
Benesh International is the home of Benesh Movement Notation (BMN) which is a system for recording and analysing human movement, ensuring choreography and performance can be accurately documented and shared. By preserving the heritage of dance through a universal visual language, it keeps the art form alive for future generations.
RAD Enterprises
RAD Enterprises is our commercial arm and runs our online and onsite shops selling RAD products and goods. All profits are gift-aided to us as a charity.
