We are a leading provider of dance education and have been training prospective dance teachers for over a century. We offer both university-recognised degrees and certificate programmes, tailored to your needs. The Certificate in Dance Teaching (CDT) is offered in Hong Kong – SAR of China. Additional degree programmes are available through our London headquarters and are taught in English.

Certificate in Dance Teaching

Our part-time distance learning Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) is one of the most popular certificate programs for aspiring dance teachers. The programme is taught in English, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Widening access and participation

We aim to maximise impact, and reduce the barriers to becoming a dance teacher. Along with flexible, part-time study, we offer a foundation module for students without the equivalent A Levels, part-time access routes to Registered Teacher Status, and an Assistant Teacher Award for 14 to 18-year-olds. We are also able to offer bursaries for some of our programmes. Find out more below.

Student accommodation

While we don’t offer accommodation at RAD headquarters, we have partnered with urbanest to provide access to purpose-built student accommodation in Battersea, overlooking the River Thames, with easy access to central London and the RAD.

Graduation

The annual RAD Graduation Day is always a wonderful celebration for our graduates to share with friends, family and fellow students.

More details on ceremony timings, tickets and dress code will be available in April 2025.
