This webinar will review the biological, physical, social, and emotional development of females. We will focus on menstruation and other secondary sex characteristics such as breast development, what changes can be expected, how these changes can impact young dancers, and how we can educate and support them.
The aims of this interactive webinar are to:
- Improve understanding of female health in the context of dance,
- Enhance knowledge of specific female health components such as menstruation,
- Explore the challenges related to adolescence for females in dance, and
- Equip participants with the skills to better support adolescent females in dance.
On completion of the interactive webinar, participants will
- have an increased understanding of female health including biological, physical, social and emotional development, and
- have a greater understanding of the challenges adolescent females may face and how to support them in the dance studio.
