The Royal Academy of Dance is pleased to present two special masterclasses in Launceston this September, open to dancers of all backgrounds.

On Saturday 26 September, former Australian Ballet Principal Artist Amy Harris will lead a ballet masterclass for dancers aged 9–13, focusing on technique, artistry and confidence. Amy spent 22 years with The Australian Ballet, joining the company in 2002 and progressing through the ranks before being promoted to Principal Artist in 2018.

On Sunday 27 September, Todd Sutherland will lead a contemporary masterclass for dancers aged 13–17, exploring musicality, movement and performance. Todd trained at The Australian Ballet School and has performed with The Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet and Sydney Dance Company, where he worked across an extensive range of classical and contemporary repertoire. He now brings his professional experience to the next generation as a teacher with Sydney Dance Company.

These masterclasses offer young dancers a valuable opportunity to broaden their training, explore different approaches to movement and learn directly from artists with extensive professional performance and teaching experience.
