Kathleen Gorham Awards 2025

The Royal Academy of Dance is pleased to present the 2025 Kathleen Gorham Memorial Awards in Victoria. Any students who are permanent residents of Victoria and have entered their Exam in 2025 are eligible to enter, provided they meet the additional Conditions for Entry.

The Kathleen Gorham Memorial Awards aim to enable candidates to build confidence in performance situations and provide additional performance opportunities, as well as establish a pathway to prepare them for international competitions. Participation of students from all levels is encouraged, as it allows them to gain experience and confidence by working with their peers and guest teachers. Students entering these Awards should have exposure to open class work as well as a syllabus.

Students in Intermediate Foundation through to Intermediate levels will participate in a syllabus class with free enchaînement on stage in front of an audience. If selected as a finalist, they will also perform a syllabus dance.

Advanced students will take part in an open class on stage, and if chosen as a finalist, they will also perform a syllabus dance. Finalists will be determined after each Vocational Award class, with all finalists performing at the end of the Vocational Graded Awards session.

A winner and runner-up will be chosen for each Vocational Grade Award, and the overall winner will receive the Kathleen Gorham Memorial Award Scholarship.
