This interactive, practical 1-hour workshop is for teachers who are progressing students onto working en pointe. Teachers will learn how to appropriately teach exercises in preparation for pointe with a series of progressions from a physiotherapists’ perspective.

Aim

The aims of this webinar are to:

  • provide teachers an understanding of what is required biomechanically of a body to work en pointe and how this impacts the student,
  • use an interactive format to explore the concept of pre-pointe preparation as a whole body,
  • demonstrate and teach a series of exercises targeting the core, thoracic area, adductors, gluteals and lower leg, and
  • enable teachers to gain practical experience of each exercise to utilise with their students in class.
