This friendly and informative webinar will give an overview of the main issues across the perinatal journey for dance professionals (and participants).

Lucy McCrudden, Founder/CEO of Dance Mama, will summarise current best practice for the physical, mental, logistical and creative considerations across the perinatal journey using her decade’s knowledge and experience in this area. This is essential for individuals and organisations with equality, diversity and inclusion / social justice responsibilities who have parents in their organisations (employed and freelance) and/or participants in this population.

Aim

The aim of this activity is to provide participants with a greater understanding and awareness of issues concerning being a parent who dances either professionally or recreationally.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this webinar, you will:

  • Have an awareness of the impact and responsibilities of being a parent in dance as an issue, as it is usually hidden within dance contexts,
  • Have an understanding of key issues along the perinatal journey (preconception to postnatal) through the lenses of physical, mental, logistical and creative considerations, and
  • Have an understanding of what and who Dance Mama is, their role in championing and progressing this cause internationally and how they can help.

Platform

You will access the webinar via Zoom. You will receive further information within five working days prior to the live broadcast. The presentation from the webinar will be recorded and it will be available for one month following the date of the live broadcast. You need to book a webinar before the date and time of the live broadcast to guarantee you will have access to the recording.
