Sarah Haslock

LRAD, ARAD, RTS, AISTD

With more than 30 years of experience in dance teaching, choreography and programme development, Sarah has dedicated her career to advancing excellence in dance education while maintaining a deep and longstanding commitment to the Royal Academy of Dance. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of GenAthletix and DanceRX, organisations focused on optimising training and recovery for athletes and dancers through DNA-based science. This work has given her a distinctive perspective on dancer health, performance longevity and the future of dance training.

Her foundations in dance education are extensive. As the Artistic Director and Owner of her own dance studio, she led a team of ten staff, oversaw curriculum development and scheduling, and coached students to competitive success. This hands-on leadership experience provided valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges faced by dance teachers and school directors, as well as the support required for studios to thrive.

As an RAD Examiner and CPD Tutor, she remains closely connected to the day-to-day life of the Academy and its members. Her contributions include helping to deliver the Silver Swans programme as part of Team Genée in Toronto in 2019, teaching both syllabus and non-syllabus courses to registered teachers across the United States and Canada, and serving on the pilot and launch team for the Discovering Repertoire syllabi. She also contributed to the Boston Conservatory access route initiative, reflecting her ongoing commitment to broadening access and opportunity within dance education.

Drawing on her experience across studio leadership, examining, curriculum development and dance science, she is a passionate advocate for the continued growth and evolution of the RAD. She believes the Academy’s greatest strength lies in its teachers, examiners and global community, and is committed to ensuring the organisation continues to meet the changing needs of dancers and educators.
