Sir Jack Petchey passes away

At the RAD we are sad to learn of the passing yesterday of businessman and philanthropist, Sir Jack Petchey CBE.

One of our big success stories is our  Step into Dance programme in partnership his Jack Petchey Foundation. This is the largest inclusive dance programme for secondary school students and youth groups across London and Essex.

The charity was set up by Sir Jack to inspire and celebrate young people. Since 1999, the Foundation has invested over £170 million in programmes and partnerships that have directly benefitted almost 1.2m young people aged 11-25.
