Greece became the 32nd country to officially join the RAD fold in 1971. Since then, it has played a pivotal role in nurturing and developing ballet education.
Over the past five decades, the organisation has provided quality training to countless dancers, fostering a vibrant and thriving dance culture in Greece.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate 50 years of the RAD in Greece,” said Tim Arthur, Chief Executive of the RAD. “From our humble beginnings to the flourishing dance scene we see today, the RAD has been instrumental in inspiring and empowering dancers of all ages.”
The celebrations kicked off on Wednesday, October 16, with a reception hosted by the British Ambassador at his residence. The festivities continued on Thursday 17 at the Megaron Concert Hall, with speeches by the Ambassador and Tim Arthur. The anniversary was also marked by a special exhibition.
As the RAD continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to its mission of providing exceptional dance education and supporting the development of young talent. The RAD’s 50th anniversary in Greece is a testament to its enduring legacy and its dedication to inspiring the next generation of dancers.
