The RAD at the Dance World Cup

The Dance World Cup is the world’s largest all-genre dance competition for children and young adults aged four to 25. It took place this year in Dublin from 8 – 18 July.

Often referred to as the ‘Olympics of Dance’, the Dance World Cup attracted over 120,000 competitors from more than 62 countries who first compete in national qualifiers to reach the annual World Finals. 

RAD trustee, Rachel Jackson, was a judge at this year’s competition. And, on the final day, RAD Chief Executive, Elizabeth Honer, joined Rachel onstage to select and award two bursaries to our Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) programme.

The bursaries will help fund two future dance teachers for 2027 entry, and were awarded to Nela Polaskova and Haylee Fong. Speaking of the bursary winners, Elizabeth said: “They are both so expressive and engaging that we could see them really inspiring their students.”
