Beverly Payne

Board of Trustees

Beverly has enjoyed a successful career immersed in the hospitality industry, with a main focus in the luxury hotel sector, latterly as general manager at the Conrad London St James hotel and director at Accelerate Hospitality.

Her wide experience has meant that she is equally comfortable advising smaller companies, start-ups and businesses facing challenges. A career balanced between operations and consultancy has enabled her to provide strategic thinking that is focused, practical and deliverable by setting the vision and driving results through building cohesive teams. Beverly is a strong believer in brand integrity, leveraging value through creative enterprise.

Beverly was a founding trustee of Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland, which is a charity for the hospitality industry in Scotland, encouraging the development of anyone working or studying in the sector. She chaired the scholarships committee for many years. Latterly, Beverly was, until 2023, a board member of The Victoria and Westminster BID (Business Improvement District), which aims to create an area where businesses are keen to be located and which provides a safe, exciting environment full of energy for employers, employees, tourists and local residents.

Beverly holds an MSc in hospitality and tourism from Strathclyde Business School, which was a joint enterprise with Lausanne Hotel School and Cornell University. She is a former member of the Institute of Hospitality.

Now retired and living about 300 yards from the RAD headquarters in Battersea, Beverly enjoys ballet as a devoted Silver Swan at the RAD, running, yoga, Pilates and travelling.
