Examiner
Ms Robyn Hick
RAD Examiner, Registered Teacher
Robyn Hick has spent more than five decades teaching, training and mentoring dancers, with a career that has taken her across Australia and around the world.
A Royal Academy of Dance registered teacher, Robyn achieved her Solo Seal (ARAD) before going on to become an RAD Examiner in 1985. She has since examined extensively throughout Australia and internationally, and also serves as an RAD Standardiser, contributing her considerable experience to the ongoing development and consistency of the Academy’s work.
At the heart of Robyn’s career has always been teaching. As a vocational trainer and mentor, she has guided generations of young dancers through some of the most formative stages of their development, combining a deep understanding of classical technique with the insight that comes from decades spent working closely with students and teachers.
Her former students have pursued professional careers throughout Australia and internationally, including dancers who have reached Principal level with San Francisco Ballet and performed with The Royal Ballet. Many others have become teachers themselves, extending the influence of Robyn’s work into another generation of dancers.
Also an experienced adjudicator, Robyn is highly regarded by colleagues in Australia and internationally for her knowledge, discernment and longstanding commitment to excellence in dance education.
