We are delighted to offer adult dancers an intensive weekend exploring repertoire with expert Faculty. Join us for two days and experience the technical and dramatic challenges required of a dancer when performing repertoire from a classical ballet.
Each day will start off with a ballet technique class, before moving on to look at a piece of repertoire from Romeo and Juliet and finishing with the opportunity to invite family/friends to watch an informal sharing of the repertoire on the Sunday.
For weekly classes that focus on solo choreography from the classic ballets, please refer to the RAD syllabus Discovering Repertoire.
“Absolutely fantastic weekend as usual. Love the opportunity and inclusivity. The faculty make it such fun whilst teaching great technique. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and the opportunity to perform is wonderful.“

About the faculty…
Joshua Tuifua
Ballet Technique and Repertoire – Level 1

Josh is a thoroughbred of The Royal Ballet…
Discovered by an RBS outreach programme at the age of 9 in Westminster, by the time he was 10, Josh was a full-time student at White Lodge. As he entered the school a year ahead of his age, he completed a total of six years at the Lower School in Richmond Park, spending his final year as Head Boy.
After graduating from White Lodge, Josh spent two years studying at the RBS Upper School in Barons Court, where he had the opportunity to participate in a school exchange with students from the Paris Opera School in Nanterre.
On graduating from the Upper School, Josh became a member of the Royal Ballet, performing as a Soloist for 16 years.
Josh is now a qualified teacher and a dedicated pioneer, advocating for accessibility to the arts and dance across social arenas.
Josh is proudly a patron of:
- Project Dance: A company for young dancers run by young creatives.
- STEPPS: A mental wellbeing charity focusing on mental health for dancers.
- Dance with Sonia Brown: a dance school in Berkshire, UK, dedicated to facilitating mature dancers from any socio-economic environment.
Josh has also developed a long-term relationship with Prior’s Court, a Berkshire-based residential school for young people with complex autism, to progress CPD for existing dance teachers and to offer first-hand practical placements for dance teachers in training.
Dilek Taptik
Ballet Technique and Repertoire – Level 2

Dilek’s dance journey began under the guidance of M. Cardiano and continued at the Mersin Conservatoire for Dance in Turkey, in Vaganova technique. She later earned an Advanced Classical Ballet Degree from the Ballet Academy Cologne in Germany, alongside the RAD STC, TC, TD teaching qualification and a National Ballet Pedagogy Diploma. Throughout her training, Dilek was mentored by renowned teachers, including former RAD Director Lynn Wallis OBE, as well as Deborah Wayne (Royal Ballet), Libby Farr, Gisela Peters, and A. C. Rogers.
As a demi-soloist with the State Opera in Turkey, Dilek’s most notable role was ‘Giselle,’ coached by N. Arikoglu of the
Joffrey Ballet. She performed in Germany and Turkey, including roles such as the ‘Arabian Dancer’ in The Nutcracker, the corps in Swan Lake, Pas de Quatre, and La Sylphide.
In 2003, Dilek received a scholarship for a one-year Certificate at the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place). She later toured with the Cologne Theatre Ensemble, splitting her time between Germany and the UK. Dilek also trained in New York, taking classes at the Merce Cunningham Dance School, studying directly under Merce Cunningham. Her performance credits include the Tate Modern, the Roundhouse, and participation as a dancer in the Cannes Film Festival’s Straight8 Competition. She also appeared in a motion picture alongside Vanessa Paradis.
Following her performing career, Dilek focused on her teaching career, which had always been an aim. She became Lead Ballet Tutor at Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Arts Educational Schools London (Arts Ed).
She is a sought-after guest teacher for Summer Schools and Intensives, including RAD HQ London, IDW Summer Schools in Barcelona and London, City Literary Institute and through her own Masterclasses.
As a PBT-certified instructor, Dilek specialises in RAD Exam Coaching and Repertoire Coaching, with a focus on developing a clear understanding of classical ballet technique. Recently, she was nominated for the prestigious ‘Dance Teacher of the Year’ award by DSA. In 2011, Dilek founded DT Dance, where she serves as Artistic Director and Teacher. Her teaching style is energetic, technical, and knowledgeable, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere and a sense of humour. She places a strong emphasis on musicality, artistry, and the joy of movement, all while fostering a deep appreciation for the art form.
