For all existing customers, you will be able to book directly into your regular class. For anyone new to a class, please complete the Expression of Interest form.
Ballet classes

Adult Graded Ballet (Adult Grade 6) (18+)
The Graded ballet classes are based around a series of exercises and dances designed to develop strong classical technique and posture, musicality, artistry, and performance. The Graded syllabus includes character work where students perform folk-inspired dances adapted for each Grade. All students are offered the opportunity to participate in Class Awards or Examinations by their teacher when considered ready. Assessments are not mandatory to move through these grades.

Adult Vocational Ballet – (Intermediate Foundation–Advanced 2) (18+)
A comprehensive study of ballet for adult students, focusing on advanced technique, musicality, artistry, and performance skills. Pointe work forms an essential part of the syllabus.
This intensive, practical training is suitable for students who demonstrate the maturity, discipline, and technical skill required for this level of advanced study. To be considered, you should either have at least three years of recent ballet training. Please note, that entry into the classes does not guarantee entry into the exam.
At the RAD Dance School, we strongly recommend students complete the Advanced Foundation examination prior to joining Advanced 1.

Adult Ballet – Non-Syllabus (18+)
All our non-syllabus ballet classes are designed to offer an enriching and dynamic experience that stands on its own but can be a useful addition to support any syllabus class.
Classes available
Beginners/Beginners Plus
Beginners: Suitable for those with little or no experience in dance, this class teaches the basics of ballet technique.
Beginners Plus: This class is more suited towards students who have had a small amount of experience but still consider themselves to be a ballet beginner.
General
These classes are for those with at least two years of recent ballet training and who want to develop their technique, musicality, and coordination. Students should have a sound knowledge of ballet vocabulary.
Advanced
These classes are suitable for those at an advanced level and who want a fast-paced and challenging class.

Discovering Repertoire Level 3 (18+)
This class follows the unique Discovering Repertoire syllabus, and students will develop their classical ballet training whilst learning adaptive choreography from well-known ballets. The syllabus is divided and examined in three units:
Class Unit – Students complete barre and centre work which provide framework for the Variations.
Variation 1 Unit – Students learn Variation 1 progressively by completing developmental exercises.
Variation 2 Unit – Students learn Variation 2 progressively by completing developmental exercises.

Adult Barre (18+)

Adult Pointe Classes (18+)
We offer 3 levels of adult pointe classes, all designed to strengthen pointe technique and confidence.
Classes available
Adult Foundational & Intermediate Foundation Pointe
This is a foundational pointe class that is designed for students with little or no prior pointe experience. Strong knowledge of classical ballet technique and vocabulary is required prior to commencing pointe work. The class incorporates strengthening exercises to support the demands of pointe work. Students develop technique, coordination, and control required for their Vocational training.
Adult Intermediate & Advanced Foundation Pointe
This class is suitable for students enrolled in Intermediate or Advanced Foundation. It is designed for students to continue building strength, control, and the technical skills required for the higher Vocational levels.
Advanced 1 & Advanced 2 Pointe
This class is suitable for students enrolled in Advanced 1 or Advanced 2 (please note, students must have been enrolled in Advanced 1 for at least one term before you are eligible to join this class). It is designed to enhance prior pointe training and continue to develop students’ pointe work skills at an advanced level.

Silver Swans and Silver Swans Seated (55+)
Specially designed for learners aged 55+, Silver Swans and Silver Swans Seated ballet classes will help improve your mobility, posture, balance, and coordination. Whether you’re an experienced dancer, have briefly dabbled, or are a complete novice, we welcome all learners of any ability.

Other dance classes

Adult Contemporary (18+)
This class develops movement skills and vocabulary through diverse exercises including floorwork. It explores various contemporary styles including Release Technique, Limon, and Cunningham to build up body awareness and engagement. It is suitable for all adult students with some previous dance knowledge.

Adult Jazz (18+)
Following a jazz warm-up and technical exercises, students learn choreography in various styles including lyrical, commercial, and musical theatre. By developing routines during each class, students gain a solid knowledge of the style before moving on to new choreography.

Stretch and Strength (18+)
A dynamic, full-body conditioning class designed to target major muscle groups. This class will help build flexibility, muscle strength, endurance, and improve coordination and balance. It is specifically designed for dancers.
