Summer success at the RAD in London

Our 2025 summer programme was filled with energy, creativity, and international flair as we welcomed dancers of all ages and levels to the Royal Academy of Dance global headquarters in London!

July began with a vibrant selection of adult courses that brought our studios to life:

  • Silver Swans Summer School
  • Silver Swans: Focus on Classical
  • Adult Ballet & Pilates Summer Course
  • Giselle Adult Repertoire Workshop

These offerings gave adult learners the chance to develop technique, artistry, and confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment, with the Giselle workshop providing a unique opportunity to explore one of ballet’s most iconic works in depth.

Junior Summer School and Romeo & Juliet

Next, the studios were buzzing with the joy of our Junior Summer School, welcoming dancers aged 8–17, alongside our delightful half-day Children’s Summer Camp offering for our youngest participants aged 4–7.

Midway through the summer, we hosted an intensive Adult Repertoire Weekend Intensive, focused on Romeo & Juliet, which coincided with the launch of the Kenneth MacMillan exhibition—creating a beautiful synergy between education and legacy.

In the final weeks, our Senior Summer School and Intensive Examination Syllabus Course took centre stage, tailored for vocational students studying at Intermediate level and above. Meanwhile, our beloved Silver Swans returned for two more weeks of Mini Series classes, continuing their joyful summer of dance.

RAD Debut

We were also proud to present RAD Debut, a free week-long dance programme delivered across four Wandsworth sites—Battersea, Putney, Balham, and Tooting. Aimed at children aged 11–13 with little or no dance experience, the initiative was led by RAD teachers and brought together under the creative direction of Shevelle Dynott, a former dancer with English National Ballet. The week culminated in a celebratory performance at RAD headquarters, where all participants came together to share what they had created with friends and family.

In total, we welcomed 840 participants from across the globe, including Brazil, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Turkey, and Italy—a true celebration of international dance.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible faculty, whose passion and expertise made every class memorable!
