Our Summer School tutors are a dynamic team of experienced dance educators and industry professionals, dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of dancers.
With a wealth of knowledge across a range of disciplines, they bring energy, creativity, and a deep passion for teaching. Whether students are attending for the first time or returning, they’ll benefit from expert guidance in a supportive and motivating environment.

Jun Samblaceno
Vivencio “Jun” Samblaceno trained in Manila with the Philippine Ballet Theatre before joining the Royal New Zealand Ballet, where he performed as a soloist and principal for 20 years across Australasia, Europe, America, and Asia. A RAD Registered Teacher and Fellow of the International Dance Teachers’ Association (UK), Jun currently tutors at Te Auaha, the New Zealand School of Dance, and Chilton Ballet Academy. With extensive experience as a performer, adjudicator, and educator, he continues to share his passion for ballet, ballroom, and dance education with the next generation of dancers.

Julie Fleming

Julie trained vocationally at The Dance School of Scotland and graduated from The Royal Ballet School Teachers’ Training Course. With over 35 years’ experience in dance, training and education, her career spans performance, choreography, teaching and teacher development.
An alumna of The Royal Ballet School, Julie is an international Tutor for its Affiliate Training & Assessment Programme. She was selected by the RAD Creative Panel as an original Tutor of the new RAD syllabus and delivers CPD courses for teachers throughout Australasia.
Julie has 17 years’ experience with the RAD Faculty of Education and is regularly invited to teach at exam intensives and summer schools. She is also an experienced adjudicator and currently works at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School in Melbourne.

Rebekkah Schoonbeek
NgatI Maru
Rebekkah is a highly regarded performer, choreographer and dance educator based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Studies from the University of Auckland and has undertaken further training at Broadway Dance Center in New York.
With more than a decade of experience in dance education and the performing arts, Rebekkah has worked across theatre, musical theatre, television, festivals and live performance. Her credits include Auckland Theatre Company, Dancing with the Stars, X-Factor, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. As a choreographer and educator, she is passionate about storytelling through movement and supporting dancers to develop their creativity, confidence and performance skills.

Amber Scott
Amber Scott started studying with The Australian Ballet School at age eleven. After graduating as dux, Amber joined The Australian Ballet in 2001 and was made principal in May 2011.
In 2003 she spent four months on exchange at The Royal Danish Ballet. In 2004 she made her debut as Odette in Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake, and performed the role throughout Australia as well as in Paris, Manchester, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and New York. In 2004 she received The Telstra Ballet Dancer Award and The People’s Choice Award.
From 2016 until 2022 Amber was a director on the board of The National Theatre Melbourne. In 2022, she established and co-directed Tailored Ballet Coaching in Melbourne alongside her husband Ty King- Wall (now, Artistic Director, The Royal New Zealand Ballet)
In September 2023 Amber retired from a 23 year dance career.
In 2024 she took up the role of Classical Tutor at the New Zealand School of Dance and is a guest teacher at the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
Amber and Ty are proud parents of their two daughters, Bonnie and Marion.

Juliet Saunders
Juliet trained in RAD, achieving Advanced. She has a BA in Dance and Movement from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne and has been working in the Fitness Industry for 28 years in Australia, London and NZ. She is a qualified Pilates Instructor, Indoor Cycling instructor, Les Mills Instructor and Personal Trainer. From 2003-2007 she was the strength and conditioning coach for the RNZB.
Currently she is part of a small team of trainers based across Australia and NZ known as Holistic Movement Coaches.
Juliet is also qualified as a Silver Swans teacher.
