The RAD brings the local community together for Let’s Dance 2026

On Sunday 8 March 2026, the RAD took part in the nationwide celebration, Let’s Dance 2026.

Let’s Dance is a national campaign founded by Silver Swans ambassador Angela Rippon CBE, supported by organisations across the UK. The initiative encourages people across the UK to embrace dance as a means to improve health, connect with others, and have fun.

In celebration of Let’s Dance, the RAD had a range of dance classes available for the whole family, starting with Family Dance Movement for young children and concluding with musical theatre classes for adults. Angela Rippon made a surprise appearance at the RAD, joining in with the class participants and sharing insights on dance’s positive impact on our lives.

As well as workshops, on Saturday 7 March, the RAD’s Silver Swans performed at dance organisation The Place’s Seasoned, an uplifting mixed bill of brand-new works performed by older dancers whose creativity has been shaped by a lifelong relationship with movement.
