Join us this summer for a day of celebratory workshops – an opportunity for our thriving Silver Swans community of dancers and teachers to connect, share and learn together.
Through the RAD’s global Silver Swans network, we champion dance as a wonderful way to enhance wellbeing – both individually and collectively.
We have two drops for workshop places – drop 1 is live now (almost sold-out).
Drop 2 will be on Friday 22 May, at 5pm.

Dynamic: An energetic and invigorating workshop perfect for those who enjoy working at a faster pace.
Licensee-focused: While tailored for licensees and designed with teachers in mind, this workshop welcomes anyone interested in a blend of theory and practical application.

The performance will be no longer than 30-minutes.
Workshops are priced as follows:
- £12 – 1 hour
- £15 – 1.25 hours
- £18 – 1.5 hours
Time-Valued CPD workshops are priced individually.
October campaign – submit a video
Celebrating you this October – This year’s Silver Swans Celebration will not feature filmed performances in the same way as previous years. However, we still want to hear from you. We will be putting together a compilation of Silver Swans dancing to celebrate Silver Sunday UK and the United Nations Day of Older Persons in October, to share on our social media channels. See below for more information.
Here are some guidelines for any teachers interested in submitting a segment of their class or a performance:
- Videos are to be recorded in 16:9 format (landscape)
- Do not add any text, logos, or music to your video – we will do all the editing!
- Videos can be a maximum of 1 minute
- Share your video as an MP4 file
- Please ensure videos are of high quality. Latest versions of Apple/Android phones usually have good quality cameras. If your video is of low quality, we will not be able to use it
- To share your video you can upload via WeTransfer or Dropbox. Send videos to press@rad.org.uk
- Ensure you have consent/permission from all individuals that feature in your video
- If Silver Swans t-shirts are to be worn, please ensure they are the official RAD Silver Swans t-shirts.
- The deadline to send your videos is no later than 30 June.
As well as this, please tag @royalacademyofdance in any performances you post on your own channels so we can celebrate your work.

Booking process
- Places are limited in each workshop and secured on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Payment is required at the time of booking.
- An automatic email will be sent via the booking platform CVENT to confirm your registration and payment were successful.
- Please quote the CVENT order no/ticket reference when contacting the RAD with any queries related to your booking.
- Please ensure you have read the Terms and Conditions, which includes the RAD’s cancellation policy.
- When a class is fully-booked, a waiting list will be activated. The Learning and Participation Team will contact you via email should a suitable place become available.
- After the booking deadline, you will receive an additional confirmation by email, detailing registration times, suggested dress, and all other relevant information for the event and venue.
