Dame Margot Fonteyn Scholarship Fund bursary
Financial support for Genée candidates from any country
Created thanks to a donation from the Dame Margot Fonteyn Scholarship Fund, this scheme is open to any individual from any country wishing to compete in the Genée International Ballet Competition.
The Dame Margot Fonteyn Scholarship Fund was established following the death of Margot Fonteyn in 1991 and exists to provide scholarships and prizes to vocational dance students in need of financial support and to promote interest in and appreciation of ballet as an art form.
Candidates must demonstrate:
- that they are likely to achieve the necessary eligibility criteria for the Genée International Ballet Competition
- evidence of personal characteristics desirable in a dancer
- evidence to suggest how the bursary will make a difference to their likelihood to apply to compete in the Genée
The bursary is a fixed sum of £1,500.
This scheme is now open for 2019, and we are accepting applications until 1 March 2019. For more information, and to apply, please visit our how to apply page.
