Dame Darcey Bussell Genée Bursary Scheme
Financial support for Genée candidates from any country
Created in late 2014 using funding achieved at that year's QEII Coronation Award gala dinner, this scheme is open to any individual from any country wishing to compete in the Genée International Ballet Competition.
It will run for five years, from 2015 until 2019.
Candidates must demonstrate:
- that they are likely to achieve the necessary eligibility criteria for the Genée International Ballet Competition
- evidence of personal characteristics desirable in a dancer
- evidence to suggest how the bursary will make a difference to their likelihood to apply to compete in the Genée
Each bursary will carry a minimum value of £1,000 (or equivalent local currency), and a selection panel may elect to pay a higher bursary depending on the likely costs of travel to be incurred by the candidate in order to travel to the Genée International Ballet Competition.
Information about how to apply for the 2019 scheme will be available shortly.
