Ballet for the Cancer Community with Fireflies and The Royal Academy of Dance

Join our gentle, nurturing ballet sessions, a combination of music, movement, and personal reflection. This is a welcoming and safe space designed for people affected by cancer. Connect with others who understand – whether you’re newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, or in recovery, meet others in similar circumstances as you move, breathe, and heal together in a compassionate community.

Suitable for all learners, beginners and experienced ballet dancers.

Led by an experienced dance artist trained in the CanRehab exercise and rehabilitation programme.

Participating in weekly ballet classes after a cancer diagnosis has numerous benefits, which can support: 

  • a reduction in side effects 
  • a better quality of life 
  • faster recovery times 
  • cancer-related cognitive impairment 
  • the improvement of mood and reduction of stress 
  • improved confidence 
What do you need? 
  • Comfortable, light clothing that you can move easily in 
  • Water bottle 
We will provide: 
  • A pair of ballet shoes for you to keep 
Two weekly classes:
  • Monday 10:30 – 11:30 am
  • Friday 3:30 – 4:30 pm
