Ballet classes

We now offer RAD Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate ballet classes for students aged 18+. These allow adults to work towards a Vocational Graded exam.
The Vocational Graded exam syllabus provides an in-depth study of ballet, developing technique, music and performance skills, and introduces pointe work for female candidates. Students should have a minimum of two years of recent ballet training for Intermediate Foundation and three for Intermediate.
Syllabus classes available

The Graded Examinations in Dance Syllabus consists of three dance disciplines selected because of their importance in the development of nineteenth-century full-length classical ballet:
- Ballet – the foundation and the most important part of the syllabus.
- Free Movement – influenced by and incorporating movements in common with other dance styles such as Natural Movement, Contemporary and Classical Greek Dance.
- Character – the theatrical presentation of national dance using original ethnic dance and music which has been freely adapted for the theatre.

A wide range of weekly non-syllabus adult ballet classes are available, catering for all levels and abilities, whether you have no previous ballet experience or are at a professional level.
The variety of classes offered provides you with the opportunity to progress through several levels and with the additional option to move onto adult RAD exam syllabus sessions. All are taught by experienced and inspiring teachers, in dedicated dance studios, and with a pianist.
