Join us at the Perth Spring Syllabus Intensive 2026. 

These school holidays, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) invites students to take part in a series of ballet classes led by experienced RAD examiners with expert knowledge of the RAD syllabus. 

Classes focus on syllabus coaching and provide an excellent opportunity to prepare for upcoming RAD exams, maintain fitness over the school holidays, and further refine classical ballet technique.  This is a valuable opportunity for students to receive expert tuition and deepen their understanding of the RAD syllabus.

Maria Roselli, RAD Examiner

Maria began her ballet training in New Zealand before joining the Royal Ballet School in London where she trained there for 2 years. From 1984, Maria danced professional with the Royal Ballet Company, London, touring Russia, Japan, Germany and Australia. ln 1990 she joined National Ballet of Canada; and then the NAPAC and CAPAB in South Africa dancing many soloist and principal roles including Swanhilda (Coppelia), Sugar Plum Fairy (Nutcracker) and Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).

In 2000 she retired from the stage, and ran her own ballet school in Cape Town, South Africa from 2001 – 2016. Maria has been teaching at schools in Brisbane from January 2017 onwards to children of all ages. She is also a qualified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor has been an RAD examiner since 2022.

Samantha Simpson, RAD Examiner

Samantha Simpson received her early dance training at Ransleys and Bernadette Langshaw along with McDonald College and Betsey Sawyer. Samantha successfully completed all Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations, including the prestigious Solo Seal Award, before continuing her training at The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne Australia.

Following a successful professional performing career with leading companies in Australia and the United Kingdom, Samantha returned to Sydney to focus on her passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers. More than 25 years ago, she gained her RAD teaching qualifications and subsequently founded and directed two highly regarded performing arts and classical ballet schools in Sydney Australia.

As a member of the Royal Academy of Dance Examination Panel, Samantha enjoys a diverse freelance career that spans teaching, examining, adjudicating competitions and scholarship programs, and presenting at summer schools and workshops throughout Australia and internationally.
