This 2-hour live webinar will delve into the delicate art of training dancers with hypermobility, exploring how hypermobility can present in different individuals, and how this may impact their training. Participants will be led through exercises to help hypermobile dancers build stability and explore variations of common cues to help keep students safe in the dance class.
Aims:
- To understand how hypermobility presents in dance classes
- To provide safe exercises to help hypermobile dancers gain further mastery of their body
- To understand how some common cues may be dangerous for hypermobile dancers
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, participants will:
- have a deeper understanding of the impact of hypermobility on a dancer’s training and the many ways hypermobility can present in dancers,
- understand how hypermobility can impact movement patterns and stability,
- feel confident in guiding students through pre-activation exercises to improve their stability before class,
- have knowledge of safe exercises to improve dynamic stability and control, and
- have explored how subtle changes in cueing can impact the dancers’ experience as well as options for cueing in a traditional classical class for safe optimal alignment.

- A safe space for the duration of the sessio
